Happy Friday Fellow Rotarians!

Another week has gone by in Wisconsin Rapids.  I hope this finds all of you safe and well.  I have seen a few faces returning to zoom and that is great!  With our state Covid numbers looking like they are we are going to continue to be cautious and for the immediate future are in a holding pattern for returning to in person meetings.  We continue to enjoy our online meetings although not quite the same as sitting in the same room we are finding it can feel quite close because we are now all conversing over the same table not at eight separate tables.  Find this week’s link for the meeting below along with some updates from our club.

October 24 Day of Caring – Rotarians Raking.  (It also happens to be World Polio Day, so we will also be collectively giving polio the Finger that day).  We have 2 members that are joining me to represent Rotarians Raking at the day of Caring.  If you still want to join in the fun, please e-mail me (mdironside@uwalumni.com ), or call 715-697-9167 and I can give you more details.  It starts at 8AM.

As a club we elected to collectively brainstorm ideas for our meeting presentations, now we need your ideas…  Thus far we have been successful with lining up presenters for our meetings.  I hope you have enjoyed them.  A huge thank you to Shelly Mondeik, Angie Susa, and Sue Sippel and the rest of the program committee for your efforts in coordinating our speakers.  The goal of this model is to facilitate more robust programming and improve timeliness of programs but that doesn’t mean you are 100% off the hook.  We still need members to be passing along their ideas and contacts so that we can bring you the programs you want.  If you have program ideas please pass them along to our programs committee.  I, Shelly, or Sue are happy to facilitate the ideas you might have.  We are also always interested in your very own programs should you have something you want to present.   Shelly.Mondeik@mstc.edu mdironside@uwalumni.com director@familyctr.org

Annual fund contribution update… As of 10/23/2020 we are sitting at an average of $28.30 per club Rotarian.  To meet our goal of $100 per Rotarian we need to step it up.  This is the Every Rotarian Every Year contribution that makes us eligible for District Grants.  As a club we have donated $1,500 to the Annual Fund this year.  All these funds return to our district 6250 in the end.  Just a reminder to contribute via Rotary Direct this year as we will not be sending invoices.  This is separate from our local foundation donation.

The surveys have returned, now what?  The Foundation Board will be meeting has been put on hold due to late scheduling conflicts.  It is being rescheduled and the club will be notified of the new date and time.

The Club Board Meeting will be held Friday 10/30/2020 at 7:30am via Zoom.
Unless posted as closed sessions these are always open meetings.  Please reach out to the either board president for the meeting link if you wish to sit in.

This is the last week for our October Youth Rotars.  Thanks for joining us and have a great rest of your school year.  Collin Kozlowski, Madeline Krzykowski, and Allison Martin  from LHS.
