Are we willing to serve as President-Elect?
Rotary is all about service -- Service Above Self! How are you serving?

Our nominating committee is looking for a President-Elect (who would be President in the 2025-2026 Rotary year). Let Craig Broeren know if you are interested in serving our club next year as our PE.
Open Director Positions
1) With the addition of an Interact Club, we are looking for an individual to serve as our Youth Protection Officer.  This is an important position as we begin working with our local high school students.

2). Also we need an at-large member to join our Club's Board of Directors. With a limited time commitment (~1 hour/month), here's your opportunity to serve by sharing with the Board your thoughts and ideas for a more successful and dynamic club.

Let Ron Rasmussen or Craig Broeren know if you would like to be considered for either of these positions.
Foundation Donation to FOCI
On October 2nd, Warren Miller, Wisconsin Rapids Noon Rotary Foundation President, presented a check to Rae Ann Thomas, founder of the non-profit For One Child of India.
RaeAnn’s organization provides funding to families and children in an area of India where the average annual family income is $800. School tuition ranges from $100 - $400 (depending on the grade) so you can see that many parents will not be able to afford to send their children to school. And yet, education is what offers opportunities to these children for a brighter future.  For the past several years we have paid the tuition for Jaya Sree, and we are happy to support Jaya who will be completing her last year of college this year.

We again are collecting eyeglasses and pill bottles for the Lions Club. You may bring them to the Noon meeting and place them in the box which will be located by the welcome table.  It is great that we are able to work with another community organization.  Thank you to John Steele for organizing this effort!
World Polio Day
World Polio Day October 24th

Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 35 years. Our goal of ridding the world of this disease is closer than ever.

As a founding partner of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, we've reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent since our first project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979.

Rotary members have contributed more than $2.1 billion and countless volunteer hours to protect nearly 3 billion children in 122 countries from this paralyzing disease. Rotary’s advocacy efforts have played a role in decisions by governments to contribute more than $10 billion to the effort.

Today, polio remains endemic only in Afghanistan and Pakistan. But it’s crucial to continue working to keep other countries polio-free. If all eradication efforts stopped today, within 10 years, polio could paralyze as many as 200,000 children each year.

Polio Plus Society
This new program in District 6250 is to recognize your gifts and pledges to support Polio Plus at a minimum of $100 per year. Visit the link for more information and let's see how many members can achieve this recognition by the end of the year! https://rotary6250.org/page/polio-plus-society
