Happy Monday Fellow Rotarians!

July, August, and the last week in September.  Time fly’s when you are acting as the president and have four kids six and under.  “Time fly’s” although that reminded me of a childhood memory.  Growing up there was a blackboard in our garage.  Every week or two a new quote, a thought, or a saying would find its way up on that blackboard.  Something to chew on for the week.  I personally always enjoyed the mindful provocation it often offered.  As I say “Time fly’s” I am reminder of one saying from the chalkboard I’ll never forget.
"Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresa, Helen Keller, Leonardo Da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein."

With that I will ask you what good work are you going to offer the world this week?

Watch your e-mail for a survey from the local Foundation.  Last week we heard about the potential crossroads our foundation is at.  The foundation needs your direction so the board may act in line with the membership’s desires and beliefs.  It is your foundation!  Share your thoughts!

The 2nd Monday of the month of October we will be taking a Cranberry Harvest Tour at Glaicial Lake Cranberries.  Save the Date for October 12.  The tour will be hosted by our very own Rotarian Phil Brown.  A great opportunity to learn about one of our local economic drivers and see some of our local fall beauty.  Gathering at 5pm, tour starts at 5:15.  2480 County Road D, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54495.

Our areas of focus… When was the last time you reviewed Rotary’s area’s of focus.  There are six main areas of focus could you name them all?  Promoting peaceFighting DiseaseProviding Clean water, Sanitation, and HygieneSaving Mothers and ChildrenSupporting EducationGrowing Local Economies.  There is amazing “Action” going on around the world.  As a Rotarian you are a part of it.  This helps tell the story of Rotary.

Program Ideas Wanted?  If you have program ideas please pass them along to our programs committee. Phil Brown is the committee chair so please reach out to Phil with any ideas.  If Phil is out harvesting Cranberries pass it along to Shelly Mondeik - Shelly.Mondeik@mstc.edu

Do you have a great idea for our club? Don’t hesitate to reach out to club a board member or myself via phone 715-697-9167, e-mail (mdironside@uwalumni.com), or in person. As I stated at the start of this year we need to keep enhancing the value of Rotary this year and in the years to come. All great things that exist started with a little idea. Is it service related? Something to enhance the meetings? Is it cost savings? Say what... You have a great idea to raise funds for our local projects? Let me know what your ideas are!
