RYLA Students Sponsored

The Rotary Foundation board voted to sponsor two LHS Interact students at RYLA May 17-19th at Camp Wawbeek in Wisconsin Dells.

World Water Day - March 22nd

Did you know that 1 person in 9 worldwide doesn’t have access to safe drinking water?  One focus of Rotary is how we can improve lives by increasing access to clean water.   Since 2013, The Rotary Foundation has invested in more than $130 million in over 2000 projects worldwide.   $24 is all it takes to provide one person with safe water.  Learn more about Rotary's safe drinking water focus at https://www.rotary.org/en/our-causes/providing-clean-water

Paul Harris Recognition

Warren Miller, Foundation President, presents Randy Jahns as a Paul Harris recipient.  Congratulations Randy!
RiverKings Presented Donation

Paul Pechmann, owner and coach of the Wisconsin Rapids RiverKings, was presented with a check from the Noon Rotary Foundation.  The Wisconsin Rapids RiverKings participate in the United States Premier League Premier Midwest West Division.  With home games at the South Wood County Recreation Center on Friday and Saturday nights throughout the Fall and Winter, the RiverKings regularly brings exciting hockey to over 500 Rapids residents.  The RiverKings recently clinched a birth in the USPHL Championships for the first time since 207-18 and will be traveling this week to Utica University Nexus Center to skate for the national championship on March 21-26.  As one of the main tenants of the South Wood County Recreation Center, our foundation is proud to support the RiverKings' efforts to improve the locker room facilities at the Rec Center.
Time for our Annual Fund Drive!

It's time for our Foundation to raise money to help us to continue to do good in our community and in the world. This past year we donated to numerous good causes in the Rapids area including United Way, our Special Needs Boy Scout Troop, Rotary Ramps, FOCUS Neighborhood Meals, WRCT Summer Youth Theatre, the LHS Interact Club, as well as youth scholarships both for our local students plus a student in India and one in Tanzania, plus more!

We are asking each of our members to consider making an annual gift to our local Foundation. We have two goals:

• Raise a minimum of $10000;

• Have 100% of our Club's Rotarians contribute.

To make this happen, our suggested contribution is $275 per Rotarian, but we just ask that you give as you can -- either more or less. No gift is too small. No gift is too large. Help us help others!

You will receive an email with more information and a form to use to send in with your contribution. Save the stamp and bring your contribution to the meeting this week, or snail-mail it this month to P.O. Box 481 Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54495-0481. If you have any questions, see either
