Rotarian Night at the Rafters
We are looking at Thursday, July 31st, as the date for a Rotary "social" at the Rafters game.   The thought is to buy a block of tickets and have a fun night with Sunrise and Noon Rotarians.  Please let Ron know if you are interested.  More details soon.
Paul Harris Recognition

Warren Miller, Foundation President, presented Wendy Cates, Scout Master for our Special Needs Boy Scout Troop 105, with a Paul Harris recognition.  Her oldest son, Nickolas, joined the special needs scout troop when he was about 17 years old.  Wendy came to sit in the back and observe, but it wasn’t long before she was hijacked and became one of the leaders.  That was more than 20 years ago, and about ten years ago she became Scout Master. A s such, she plans outings, determines things that the Scouts can do to earn patches (instead of merit badges), and plans meetings and outings to teach the scouts and give them new experiences (such as 1 st Aid, CPR, farm visits).  Our Scout Troop currently has 11 members, plus 8 leaders.  The oldest scout is Fred (86, and in a wheelchair), and the youngest is Dillon (20 years old). They participate in service projects such as the Day of Caring, Scouting for Food, and make scarves that the Food Pantry hands out to those in need, and are hoping to make lap blankets this year. The Scouts do their own fundraising to pay for their outings and activities. Between their popcorn sale and their Christmas crafts, they usually raise ~ $2,000.
Foundation Donation

Warren Miller, Foundation President, presented a $1000 check for WRPS Athletic Sponsorship.  Rotary's presence with the community occurs with this sponsorship on the Lincoln High School campus and signage on the Expressway.  This sponsorship supports the facility improvement fund.  LHS currently sponsors 23 athletic opportunities for the youth in our community.
Speakers Needed

We are currently booking our programs for July 21st and beyond.  If you have a topic or speaker, please contact Jen Allen.
Club Secretary Needed

With Julie Strenn taking a new job position (Congratulations Julie!), she is unable to continue as our club secretary.  This position entails invoicing, minutes of board meetings, and attendance.  Please let Ron know if you are willing to serve in this position and on our Board of Directors.

Sue Sippel will be serving as interim club secretary.  If you have attendance or billing questions, Sue can be reached via email.
Foundation Calendar Raffle

Our Foundation Calendar Raffle begins in July.  Tickets were distributed at our May 5th meeting.  We aim to raise $5000, meaning 500 tickets will be sold.  We ask all Rotarians to sell nine tickets.  To meet our goal, we would need around 12 tickets per Rotarian.  Thank you for being so supportive of our Foundation!  Please return tickets to our June 23rd meeting!
Last Week's Speaker Summary

Gus Mancuso and Jay Bemke presented on TEAM RAPIDS.  TEAM RAPIDS is a dedicated endowment fund established with the Incourage Community Foundation.  The mission is to support football, athletic teams, and non-funded club activities within the Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools (W.R.P.S.).  The group is passionate about breaking down the barriers that keep youth from participating in extracurriculars—and sharing the lifelong value of experiences that happen outside the classroom.
