Volume 102 · Issue 29
Rotarians,

Just like that April is upon us.  We have made good progress this year in multiple avenues so far this year.  We have been having a successful fund drive both local and in our commitment to the RI annual fund (Every Rotarian Every Year).  We have made progress on our work toward trying to plug into and identify new service projects and are pressing to improve the value of our Rotary to our Rotarians.  We have supported our community financially in a variety of ways in a year where there was less to get out and “do.”  We have inducted two new members, soon to be three.  We have continued to regularly meet and have had some great programs, which has not been the case for all clubs this last year.  Kudos to the Noon WR Rotary for that!  As we start our final quarter of this Rotary year, keep it up, let’s finish strong!

This week’s announcements…
Want to gather in person again? Starting April 5, 2021…  We will be offering an in person option starting on Monday.  A detailed message was sent out through ClubRunner on April 1 regarding the meeting format and details related (No joke!).  Please reference that email for the specifics.  We will be running a parallel style meeting that we call a “Room and Zoom.”  Members can attend how they feel most comfortable, or through the method their schedule best allows on a particular week.  The major highlights from that e-mail include a location change from Hotel Mead to Bullseye Golf Club, stay home if you are sick, wear a mask, and socially distance while attending in person.  Contact Matt Ironside if you have any questions.  We have given time and attention to meeting modifications to make this a positive experience to attend via either method.  I hope to see you all this upcoming Monday.

We have 2 more weeks to close our fund drive and meet our goal.  Did you donate yet?  Foundation Fund Drive, please give ASAP to help keep this drive efficient and effective… We are running our annual local foundation fund drive from March 1, 2021 – April 15, 2021.  You should have received a letter in your snail mail early April with an overview of our foundation fund drive.  If you did not, the address to send your payment is Noon Rotary Club of Wisconsin Rapids Foundation, 2511 – 8th Street South #157, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494.  As of April 1, 2021 we have heard from 49% of our membership, and have reached 85% of our goal.   As WR Noon Rotarians we individually try give to two (or more) funds, the Rotary International Annual Fund, and the local Noon Club Foundation.  This fund drive is for our local foundation and the funds support the work our local foundation does.  We ask for each member to give $250.00 or any amount they can.  Our biggest goal is that we get 100% participation.  The Rotary International Annual Fund is our “Every Rotarian Every Year” giving of $100.  We have shifted our fund drive and are asking that club members do their giving or decline in a timely manner.  This giving sets the foundation budget for 2021-2022 Rotary Year.  Thank you to those that have already given!

Club board vacancy has been filled…  The club board had one at large board seat yet to fill.  At the last board meeting Tari Jahns was brought forth by the nominating committee and approved by the current board to start her roll filling the remaining vacancy for the July 1, 2021- June 30, 2024, 3 year board term.  Thank you Tari for your commitment to aiding the direction of the club.

Save the date for the district conference…   Join in any time or date you chose for a small portion or all of it.  Check out the details and the speaker line up at 2021 District Conference | District 6250 (rotary6250.org)Virtual April 18-24, 2021 Free registration.

There will be a club foundation meeting on the second Monday of April, no noon meeting.  No evening social…  The foundation board meeting had to be rescheduled and will utilize the noon hour on the 2nd Monday of the month to reschedule their meeting.  As has been the meeting schedule, there are no regular full noon meetings on the 2nd and 5th Monday’s of a month.  Matt will be unavailable to coordinate an evening event.  Look for a May event.

Welcome April Youth Rotars - Joining us from LHS in the 3rd and 4th weeks of this month as there is no school April 5.  This month we have Carter Peplinski, Rachel Bronson, and Taylor Wentland.  As always make them feel welcome, help introduce them to what Rotary is and does.  We are community role models.

Please provide your ideas for programs for 2021 -   Shelly Mondeik and the programming committee is asking you to help direct your weekly programming topics.  They have done a fantastic job of keeping our lineup full of interesting programs but want help from you to submit a speaker or topic.  If you’re not able to make the connection, the committee can assist you in reaching out and solidifying the program speaker and details.  Many hands make light work.  Send your ideas to mdironside@uwalumni.com  or Shelly.Mondeik@mstc.edu

Lastly have a great Easter weekend, and I’ll see you next week!
