Rotarians,

 

It was great to see many familiar faces April 5 in person as well as on zoom.  I would call it a success!  I hope if you attended you felt the same.  We will see everyone back in person or on zoom again this next week.

 

 

In person meeting options are offered again!  We will continue to offer an in person option for Monday noon meetings.  A detailed message was sent out through ClubRunner on April 1 regarding the meeting format and details related.  Please reference that email for the specifics.  We will be running a parallel style meeting that we call a “Room and Zoom.”  Members can attend how they feel most comfortable, or through the method their schedule best allows on a particular week.  The major highlights from that e-mail include a location change from Hotel Mead to Bullseye Golf Club, stay home if you are sick, wear a mask, and socially distance while attending in person.  Contact Matt Ironside if you have any questions.  We have given time and attention to meeting modifications to make this a positive experience to attend via either method.  I hope to see you all again this upcoming Monday. 

 

We will be wrapping up our fund drive and hope to meet our goal.  Did you donate yet to the Foundation Fund Drive? Please give ASAP to help keep this drive efficient and effective… We are running our annual local foundation fund drive from March 1, 2021 – April 15, 2021.  You should have received a letter in your snail mail early April with an overview of our foundation fund drive.  If you did not, the address to send your payment is Noon Rotary Club of Wisconsin Rapids Foundation, 2511 – 8^th Street South #157, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494.  As of April 1, 2021 we have heard from 49% of our membership, and have reached 85% of our goal.   As WR Noon Rotarians we individually try give to two (or more) funds, the Rotary International Annual Fund, and the local Noon Club Foundation.  This fund drive is for our local foundation and the funds support the work our local foundation does.  We ask for each member to give $250.00 or any amount they can.  Our biggest goal is that we get 100% participation.  The Rotary International Annual Fund is our “Every Rotarian Every Year” giving of $100.  We have shifted our fund drive and are asking that club members do their giving or decline in a timely manner.  This giving sets the foundation budget for 2021-2022 Rotary Year.  Thank you to those that have already given!

 

Chris Severson,  Executive Dean and Wisconsin Rapids Campus Dean at Mid-State Technical College, to be joining Noon Rotary…  We are excited to have Chris Severson joining our club.  He will be inducted into our club on April 19, 2021.  He is sponsored by Shelly Mondeik.

 

The district conference starts Sunday 4/18/21…   Join in any time or date you chose for a small portion or all of it.  Check out the details and the speaker line up at 2021 District Conference | District 6250 (rotary6250.org).  Virtual April 18-24, 2021 Free registration and a great way to learn about what rotary does across our district, and across the world. 

 

Welcome April Youth Rotars - Joining us from LHS in the 3^rd and 4^th weeks of April.  This month we have Carter Peplinski, Rachel Bronson, and Tayor Wentland.  As always make them feel welcome, help introduce them to what Rotary is and does.  We are community role models.

Please provide your ideas for programs for 2021 -   Shelly Mondeik and the programming committee is asking you to help direct your weekly programming topics.  They have done a fantastic job of keeping our lineup full of interesting programs but want help from you to submit a speaker or topic.  If you’re not able to make the connection, the committee can assist you in reaching out and solidifying the program speaker and details.  Many hands make light work.  Send your ideas to mdironside@uwalumni.com  or Shelly.Mondeik@mstc.edu
