Michelle McGrath, Ph. D. joined 528 Rotarians around the globe when she became District Governor of District 6250. A member of the Rotary Club of Madison Dr. McGrath is an educator and community leader with more than twenty-seven years of professional experience. Currently the Executive Director of the Waunakee Community Cares Coalition, she has been a teacher, coach, administrator, college professor, and a non-profit executive.
Michelle is a published author and speaks nationally about her research on “The Urgency of Youth Leadership”. Recently selected by Brava Magazine as one of Madison’s Women to Watch she encourages all of us, especially youth, to live a fearless and fulfilled life.
DG Michelle has previously served as District trainer, RYLA Chair, as well as President of her home Club, Rotary Club of Madison, one of the largest in the Rotary world. She is married and is the mother of four grown children.

Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 35 years. Our goal of ridding the world of this disease is closer than ever.
As a founding partner of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, we've reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent since our first project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979.
Rotary members have contributed more than $2.1 billion and countless volunteer hours to protect nearly 3 billion children in 122 countries from this paralyzing disease. Rotary’s advocacy efforts have played a role in decisions by governments to contribute more than $10 billion to the effort.
Today, polio remains endemic only in Afghanistan and Pakistan. But it’s crucial to continue working to keep other countries polio-free. If all eradication efforts stopped today, within 10 years, polio could paralyze as many as 200,000 children each year.

ODC applied to our Foundation for a grant to create 50 Resource Kits to give to homeless individuals coming to their Mental Health Outpatient Clinic. This would be to get the program started and to evaluate its effectiveness in meeting the challenges of the homeless. Our foundation Board has voted to award ODC with a grant of $500 to implement this program.
Eric Siler, the CTE Coordinator for the Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools, was joined by LHS students Emily Hartjes, Paige Gunderson, and Emma Rokus. They explained the Academic and Career Planning (ACP) process that is utilized at WRPS and its impact on focusing students on careers after high school. The students explained their youth apprenticeship opportunities in business and marketing as well as health sciences. Eric further explained that LHS offers 28 courses and 46 sections of dual enrollment courses with Mid-State Technical College.
