On Monday, June 1st, we will be collecting items for FOCUS Food Pantry. While any shelf stable items are welcome, and the challenge was for every member who attends to bring 10, the items below are the most needed items:
Spaghetti Pasta and Spaghetti sauce
Elbow macaroni
Egg Noodles
Rice
Stuffing (boxed)
Boxes of Individual oatmeal packets
Granola bars
Crackers
Canned fruit
Canned Mixed Vegetables, Green beans, Corn, Peas
Cream of Mushroom Soup and Cream of Chicken Soup
Tuna or canned chicken
Cereal
Pinto, Black, and Great Northern Beans
Diced Tomatoes
Tomato Sauce
Taco Seasoning Packets
Chili Seasoning Packets
Ranch Seasoning Packets
Jen Conklin from FOCUS will also be joining us to give an update on their work, which includes the neighborhood meals, backpack program, and food pantry.
Tickets were distributed at our April 27th meeting and we ask that all Rotarians sell at least nine tickets. To meet our goal, we would need around 12 tickets per Rotarian. Thank you for being so supportive of our Foundation! Please return tickets to our June 22th meeting or to Tari at the United Way by Friday, June 26th!

At the most recent Board and Foundation meetings, we moved forward with the details of the special project grants. The Board will move $15,000 from the club account to the Foundation to be made available for special project grant requests. These requests can be for any local project, with a maximum request of $2,500 per project. Requests for funding can be submitted using the already existing Grant Application on our website, under the Foundation tab.
All requests need to be submitted by 5pm on Friday, July 3rd.

Ron Rasmussen presented two checks last week: one to Gretchen Powers for the Children's Summer Theatre program and one to Phil Bickelhaupt from Rapids Kickers. Another great way to see our dollars impacting the community!
At our last meeting on May 18, we welcomed Lori Allman from Anovia Health. Lori informed the club of the advantages of direct primary care and the role Anovia plays in our community.
