Our Foundation Calendar Raffle begins in July. Tickets were distributed at our May 6th meeting. We aim to raise $5000, meaning 500 tickets will be sold. We ask all Rotarians to sell nine tickets. To meet our goal, we would need around 12 tickets per Rotarian. Thank you for being so supportive of our Foundation! Please return tickets to our June 24th meeting!
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age 5. Dolly's program gifts over 2 million books each month. The United Say of South Wood and Adams County is the local partner with over 400 children enrolled in the program. This grant is a small part of the funding as Women United secures a large part of the fundraising, donations, grant writing, and membership investment. We were pleased to present Tari Jahns with a $500 check to support United Way's partnership with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
The Noon Rotary Foundation presented a $750 check to the Wisconsin Rapids Cage Club officers Brandon Becker, President, and Jack Smalley, Lincoln High School Varsity Basketball Coach. Cage Club is for kids in 2nd through 8th grade, and it teaches them basketball and life skills while participating in the Great Northwest Travel Basketball League (GNBL). The Cage Club Board of Directors is establishing a scholarship fund to assist families in need so kids can continue to participate.
We are currently booking our programs for July 22, August 26, October 28, and dates after. If you have a topic or speaker, please contact Claire Parrish-Lane.
