Happy Friday Rotarians,

The Assumption High School Choir will be performing this Monday at our Zoom meeting for our traditional holiday programI sincerely hope you join us for this performance and certainly feel welcome to invite a friend or family member.  If you are so inclined you could even chow down on some baked chicken or beef tips as a light lunch in honor of our usual holiday meal.

Here’s this week’s club updates…

No meeting December 21, or December 28.

Support our Scouts Troup 185…  They need our help and its as simple as putting pen to paper.  As one can imagine this year is difficult on them not being able to do their usual scout related activities.  We  have an opportunity for action here and would have a great impact by writing a few letters.  Amy is asking for us to help keep their spirits up and let them know we are thinking about them during this year that we haven’t been able to meet up with them.  Please e-mail akolo.elmhorst@gmail.com or call her at 715-570-2702 to obtain names and addresses or to offer any ideas you may have for the club.  See Friday 12/4/2020 e-mail from Amy for more details and update on the club if you missed it.

Please provide your ideas for programs for 2021…  Shelly Mondeik and the programming committee is asking you to help direct your weekly programming topics.  They have done a fantastic job of keeping our lineup full of interesting programs but want help from you to submit a speaker or topic.  If you’re not able to make the connection the committee can assist you in reaching out and solidifying the program speaker and details.  Many hands make light work.  Send  your ideas to - Shelly.Mondeik@mstc.edu

Join the fundraiser “Dream Team”…  Calling all fundraising dreamers!  One clear message from our recent survey was that we need to supplement our internal fund drive with an additional fundraising effort.  The foundation is looking for a task force to work on shaping this fundraising effort into whatever form it may take.  Any and all ideas are welcome, so if you have experience or interest in fundraising and event planning please join this task force!  E-mail mdironside@uwalumni.com or director@familyctr.org your ideas or interest in joining up on the “Dream Team.”  (Sue did not formally authorize my naming of this group J).

It’s the second (and final) Monday for the December Youth Rotars…  Joining us for December from LHS we have Kaleb Anderson, Emma Mischnick, and Halle Heath.   As always make them feel welcome, help introduce them to what Rotary is and does.  We are community role models for them.

Christmas Sweater Happy Hour Alert…  Christmas cocktail hour in 2020 style.  Yes that means via zoom.  Grab your beverage of choice, put on an ugly Christmas sweater and don’t worry about what the bottom half looks like.  Informal social hour.  More details to follow in the coming days.
