The Wisconsin Rapids Rotary Club will forever be grateful for the many years we got to spend with our wonderful friend and fellow Rotarian Gregory H. Nettesheim. We are with heavy hearts following his passing on Friday, September 9, 2022 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital. Greg was born on April 5, 1943 in Sussex, Wisconsin. He grew up on the family dairy farm and attended a one room schoolhouse, which instilled his lifelong love of learning. Greg attended Catholic Memorial in Waukesha, graduating in 1961 and would go on to graduate from Marquette University in 1965 and Marquette Law School in 1968. He practiced law for over 50 years and was a partner at Brazeau, Potter, Wefel, Kryshak and Nettesheim. He retired June 1, 2022. Greg married Pamela Fischer on April 2, 1983 in Las Vegas.
Outside of serving the community through Rotary, Greg was a member of the Up River Gun Club, Marshfield Foundation Board, Riverview Hospital Board, Legacy Foundation, and he hosted Matt’s Farm Day for over 30 years. He loved spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He could always be found attending their various sporting events and would take them on vacation every year up to Hayward.
As a Rotarian, Greg will always be remembered for boasting about Marquette and for being a passionate member of the Youth Rotar Committee. He did a great job introducing the Youth Rotars and he usually knew their parents, so he would add many humorous notes to their intros.
We thank you, Greg, for your many years of Service Above Self.
