Rotarians,

As I write my final Ripples of the Rotary year I would just like to lead it off by saying, it has been a pleasure and an honor to lead this club over the last year.  Thank you for your continued giving of time, talent, and money so that we can continue to serve our community and our world with the hope of leaving it a better place for future generations.

This week’s announcements…

Our Local Foundation fund drive raised $10,975…  As of June 16, 2021, with pledges up to $12,000.  If all that have pledged follow through that would bring us to 45 out of 52 Rotarians that supported our local foundation.  A huge thank you to all that have given, no matter what the dollar amount.  With your generosity we can continue to support our community through our selected causes and projects.

Only 3 Days left to EREY!...   As of June 27, 2021 we have 16 of 53 noon Rotarians contributing to the Annual Fund.  That is down from 40 members in 2019-2020.  We are pushing for greater participation however as a club you crushed it on the Grand Total, giving $17,842.  Three Rotarians gave $1,000 or more to the RI foundation this year.  14 Rotarians are sustaining members giving $100 or more.  The easiest way is to sign up for Rotary Direct, 6 members have taken advantage of this option.  Donate | Rotary International

Polio Plus donations this year top $5,900…  This Rotary year our club gave $5,935 to the Polio Plus Fund, and we saw another country declared wild polio virus free.  Another area of standout generosity.  Most of these funds were additionally matched 2 for 1 by the Gates Foundation.

Don’t forget Golf on June 28 at 1:30pm at Bullseye Golf Club… There is no reason needed to take the afternoon off and golf with your Rotary friends.  If you need a reason, I have two.  It is my birthday for starters, as well as my last club meeting as your president.  There is an event created in club runner.  Please register via an e-mailed link on June 18, Register Online here, or just message Matt and I can register you.

Please provide your ideas for programs for 2021 -   Shelly Mondeik and the programming committee is asking you to help direct your weekly programming topics.  They have done a fantastic job of keeping our lineup full of interesting programs but want help from you to submit a speaker or topic.  If you’re not able to make the connection, the committee can assist you in reaching out and solidifying the program speaker and details.  Many hands make light work.  Send your ideas to mdironside@uwalumni.com  or Shelly.Mondeik@mstc.edu

It’s not the tools you have faith in, tools are tools, they work or they don’t work.  It’s the people you have faith in.”  - Steve Jobs
