Our annual meeting will be on Monday, December 4th. At this meeting we will elect our 2024-25 officers and directors as well as receive our official treasurer’s report.

Rotarians around the world are celebrating the impact of The Rotary Foundation in November. We celebrate by remembering the impact our support is having on eradicating polio, funding humanitarian community projects sponsored by clubs, and the ways in which our work helps create peace by alleviating the need where it exists.
Noon Rotary is currently at $1,375 or 34% of our goal of $4,000 for this Rotary year (last year the club gave $5,725 to the International Rotary Foundation).
With a $6.00 a year increase for the Rotary Magazine, the board of directors as voted to increase dues to $65 per quarter effective January 1, 2024. We try to limit dues increases but with district and RI increases this year, we have been unable to balance the club budget without an increase. RI dues will increase again in 2024-25 but it is the hope of the Board to absorb this cost into the budget at that time.
During our October 23rd meeting, Warren Miller, Foundation President, provided an update on our Rotary Ramps Program.
Our Rotary Ramps program has been pretty quiet since Covid. Due to some changes at ADRC it seemed we had lost the referrals for ramps that we had been receiving in the past. Dan Guck has been our liaison with ADRC and together Dan, your Foundation Board, and ADRC have developed guidelines and procedures for deciding when and for whom we build ramps
This has been a process that has taken a full year, but we believe that the renewed contacts we now have with ADRC and the procedures we have established will work.
ADRC will make potential recipients aware of our program and help them fill out the application form which our Foundation Board has created for anyone requiring a handicap ramp for their home.
Applicants must be a homeowner in the Rapids, Nekoosa, or Port Edwards School Districts who must need to use a walker or wheelchair so without a ramp they cannot get into / out of their house.
Our expectation is that by building the ramp the homeowner can reasonably be expected to extend their ability to stay in their own home by five years.
ADRC will conduct a home visit and will verify household income and determine if there are other programs that the person fits into.
Applications for those that are determined to legitimately need and qualify for assistance will be forwarded to our Foundation for our approval for the applicant.
Expectation is to build 2 – 3 ramps per year.
Our Foundation has budgeted up to two ramps for this current Rotary year. While building season is pretty close to over for the year, our expectation is that we will have a ramp or two to build next spring. We will keep you posted as to when so that you can join us when we build our next ramp.
We welcomed Michelle McGrath, Governor of District 6250, to our club for the Governor's Address. Michelle, an Assumption '90 grad and former teacher at Lincoln, shared the impact of shared experiences and the importance of Rotary in today's world. With the mental health challenges many are facing across the world, Rotary fosters the importance of human connection and service to our local communities.
This week we continue with our second rotation of Youth Rotars for the 2023-24 school year. Please warmly welcome from Assumption Jake Wiedmeyer and from Lincoln: Keaton Broeren, Jayda Khane, Anna Price, and Emma Rokus.
