Rotarians,
Great meeting last week. I think we had a new record of Zoomers at one point. It was a very timely and high quality program that no doubt would have been of interest to many community members. Zoom affords an extremely easy invitation and method of visiting the club for a program that a community member might find of particular interest. We also get a chance to see new faces and promote our club. Win-Win! I am calling on you Noon Rotarians to invite a guest to an upcoming meeting. Check out the program lineup at the end of the newsletter and think about those you interact with that might find the program interesting and informational.
This week’s announcements…
How and when will we return to meeting in person... If you have input on our return to in person meetings please take the time to fill out the survey that was e-mailed out via club runner this last week. If you missed it here is the link
Spring 2021 Meeting Survey. To those that have already filled it out, thank you! Please only fill it out once.
Monday marks the official annual Noon Rotary Foundation fund drive kickoff… We will be running our annual local foundation fund drive from March 1, 2021 – April 15, 2021. Please check your physical mailboxes in the upcoming week for mailers related. As WR Noon Rotarians we give to two (or more) funds, the Rotary International Annual Fund, and the local Noon Club Foundation. This fund drive is for our local foundation and the funds support the work our local foundation does. We ask for each member to give $250.00 if they can. Our biggest goal is that we get 100% participation. The Rotary International Annual Fund is our “Every Rotarian Every Year” giving of $100. We have shifted our fund drive and are asking that club members do their giving or decline in a timely manner. This giving sets the foundation budget for 2021-2022 Rotary Year.
Welcome Julie Strenn, President and CEO of the ODC is a new member… Julie was inducted at the meeting on February 22, 2021. We are excited to have her joining our club and look forward to her contributions in the future.
March 8, 2021 service social focused event will focus on fundraising and will be held over the regular noon hour… The fundraiser committee is interested in your feedback and ideas. We will be meeting over the regular noon hour time on the second Monday of March in lieu of an evening event or a traditional noon meeting. As a reminder we as a club were surveyed and felt collectively that we needed to support our internal fund drive for the foundation with a fundraiser. Our goal as a club is yet to have some version of a fund raiser this year. Join us on March 8.
When was the last time you asked a friend or business contact to join Rotary? It is part of your duty as a member of the club to help sustain the quality membership of the club. There are dozens of community members that have the same vision, the same giving sprit, and the same desire to get involved and better the community. They won’t join Rotary if you don’t ask. Who was the last person you asked or talked to about Rotary?
