It's time for our Foundation to raise money to help us to continue to do good in our community and in the world. This past year we donated to numerous good causes in the Rapids area including United Way, our Special Needs Boy Scout Troop, Rotary Ramps, FOCUS Neighborhood Meals, WRCT Summer Youth Theatre, the LHS Interact Club, as well as youth scholarships both for our local students plus a student in India and one in Tanzania, plus more!
We are asking each of our members to consider making an annual gift to our local Foundation. We have two goals:
• Raise a minimum of $10000;
• Have 100% of our Club's Rotarians contribute.
To make this happen, our suggested contribution is $275 per Rotarian, but we just ask that you give as you can -- either more or less. No gift is too small. No gift is too large. Help us help others!
You will receive an email with more information and a form to use to send in with your contribution. Save the stamp and bring your contribution to the meeting this week, or snail-mail it this month to P.O. Box 481 Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54495-0481. If you have any questions, see either
Registration is now open! Click HERE to register. Tri-Con is a wonderful way to unite your club, educate new members, or re-energize experienced club members. We are excited to see you in Green Bay this April.
Jen Allen, Chief Executive Officer of the Wisconsin Rapids Boys and Girls Club, provided insight on the operations, programs, and locations of the Boys and Girls Club. Currently the club operates in a partnership with the YMCA, in Wisconsin Rapids School District, Nekoosa Middle School, and Heuer Elementary School in Port Edwards. The club leads a “Be A Graduate” program at WRAMS/Lincoln and in Nekoosa assisting 25-30 students stay on track for graduation. The summer programming has a waitlist of around 60-70 children due to a lack of staffing and room at locations. To learn more about the Boys and Girls Club, visit https://www.bgcwra.org/.
We now have the option to pay club dues, happy cup, and foundation donations via PayPal. You can pay with the app by scanning the QR code above or by clicking https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=TDZHMRJKKBX3N. This option will cost the club/foundation approximately 3% of your donation.
“Learn all you can about people in other parts of the world. Understanding how people in other countries live and work and play teaches us to respect them and promote peace everywhere.”
